This is a beautiful example of a Custom built wooden fishing boat built in Balmain by Bill Holmes and Mick Nesbit and launched in 1964. The Holmes family have a long history of craftsmanship with timber boats in Sydney. The current owner has added stainless steel fuel tanks to the engine room and apart from electronics the boat remains authentic. The Deck was built of Oregon and the Hull of Spotted Gum.
Lormar has seen continuous service since being launched and the current owner has proudly owned and operated the vessel for the past 37 years and in that time is the only person to skipper her. He is passionate about regular maintenance. The owner takes great pride in keeping servicing up to date and anti-fouled the boat himself just before Christmas.
Lormar is currently in 1E survey for up to 49 passengers inshore and 1C for up to 25 passengers offshore. There is adequate seating around the deck allowing those fishing to do so seated.
Currently moored at Birkin Head Point, Lormar is regularly seen with groups of 15 to 24 people heading to sea on their fishing adventure. The current owner loves this reliable boat but feels it is now time to let a new owner take over.
The mooring can be transferred to the purchaser and the owner is prepared to leave much of the fishing gear on board. The size of Lormar lends itself to hand lining in preference to rod and reel and as such there are adequate numbers of lines on board for everyone.
