Built at Yungaburra on the Atherton tablelands by Kevin Mackenzie, Master shipwright, to his own design, previously having designed and built many boats at the Gold coast with good speed, efficiency and seagoing ability. Fringe dweller was designed to be stable and easily driven thus being economical to run with roomy accommodation. She has proved to satisfy all design features.
