News - Small Boat Standards
Recreational boats are built to various standards around the world, so why doesn't the industry get together and create uniform laws?
This will be the hot topic of discussion at the Boating Summit Down Under staged by the National Marine Safety Committee on May 21-22 to coincide with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
The summit will give marine industry delegates the chance to hear international experts' views on small-boat standards.
It's widely acknowledged that aligning the standards used in the US and Europe would make life a lot easier for boat builders including those in Australia that have to make production changes to meet either market.
