The rapidly approaching 2010 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 20 to 23) will be the venue for the exclusive Asia Pacific launch for two new Fountaine Pajot catamarans, the Lipari 41 and Summerland 40 Trawler, by local distributor Multihull Solutions.

As part of display, the company said four catamarans by the prestigious French shipyard Fountaine Pajot will be unveiled, headed by the Lipari 41 sailing catamaran and the Summerland 40 Trawler power catamaran.

Multihull Solutions, offshore and cruising multihull specialists for Australia and New Zealand, said it will also present the popular Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 and Eleuthera 60 sailing cats.

"The stunning Lipari 41 is a world-class cruising multihull that shatters the benchmarks set by its peers," stated the company press release. "Replacing the immensely popular Lavezzi 40, the Lipari 41 brings with it enhanced performance and design."

With Cruising Packages priced from $A580,000, Multihull Solutions said the Lipari 41 has been constructed with a low centre of gravity and light displacement of 7.6 tonnes to ensure safety, stability with optimal comfort and performance in all conditions.
Its two 20hp standard engines are claimed to provide a cruising speed of 7.7kts, while the option of two larger 30hp engines offers up to 9.5kts if required.

"Aesthetically, the Lipari 41 represents the pinnacle of European excellence with elegant lines and a revolutionary design that maximises space, storage and comfort," the distributor said.

"The Lipari 41’s ergonomically designed deck provides convenient centralised handling with obstacle-free movement. Built with advanced RTM éco technology, the Lipari 41 outshines its competitors in innovation with the mast built into the deck rather than the roof for reinforced structural rigidity and strength.

"The Lipari 41 also features an integrated dual-seating helm station with excellent visibility and has the cockpit and saloon on the same level to help make short and long passages a cruising pleasure," said Multihull Solutions.

The Summerland 40 is said to feature the superior characteristics for which Fountaine Pajot’s Trawler range is already renowned, including state-of-the art design, autonomous controls, 40 per cent less fuel consumption and exceptional offshore ability.

Priced from $A780,000, Multihull Solutions said the Summerland 40 will complement Fountaine Pajot’s existing range of Trawler power catamarans, which includes the Highland 35 Pilot, Cumberland 46 and Queensland 55.

"Designed by the Joubert-Nivelt firm of architects, Trawler catamarans are designed as oceangoing boats with a host of special features including a generous freeboard and high bridge-deck clearance to provide a quieter and dryer ride than competitors in most sea conditions," said Multihull Solutions.
"The Trawler’s two hulls ensure excellent stability, eliminating dangerous and uncomfortable rolling.
As with all of the Trawler models, the Summerland 40 has a main-deck helm station for comfortable passages, and a flybridge helm station for exceptional visibility. The Summerland 40 also boasts a true Owner’s Suite with sea views and spacious bathroom."

Multihull Solutions said it will have a dedicated sales office on Marina A at the Sanctuary Cove show as well as a separate brokerage office to showcase their extensive range of quality pre-owned multihulls.

Mark Elkington of Multihull Solutions said he expected strong interest in multihulls at this year’s show.

"More and more people are recognising the comfort, safety and performance benefits of multihulls, and we are able to showcase the world’s leading brands including Fountaine Pajot, Trawler, Catana, Sunreef Yacht, NEEL and Dolphin Catamarans," Elkington said.

"Also, the current tax deductions available to many businesses mean that the decision to purchase a multihull for company use and charter boat investment purposes is even more appealing than ever," he said.
