Luxury Australian boatbuilder Palm Beach Motor Yachts will launch the PB45 sedan, a contemporary version of its popular handcrafted PB50 at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on May 24.

The bespoke manufacturer introduces fibreglass window frames, more soft furnishings and composite internal
wall sections in its latest design, retaining a significant amount of teak trimming the brand is famous for.

The displayed PB45 layout will be similar to that found on the typical PB50, with small modifications all-round to keep it within its 45ft dimension.

Palm Beach Motor Yachts hopes to increase build slots and attract wider audiences with the new vessel, lowering the entry point for prospective buyers from $1.6M to $1.2M.

Internally, the typical
PB45 will feature Italian lighting design, a teak steering wheel and double leather helm seat, a wet bar with Caesarstone benchtop, two 130L 24V refrigerators, and carpets and Burmese teak cabinetry throughout.

The PB45 will also feature the FinScan IntelliCORE Smart Power system as a recommended standard item. This includes AC source management with reverse polarity disconnect, AC/DC digital switching, and monitoring of all batteries and tank levels from one helm mounted touch screen.

The PB45 on display will feature Volvo Penta
IPS engines delivering speeds of up to 30kts, and feature modern composite materials for the hull.

Palm Cove Motor Yachts already has two PB45 models in production, and estimates that each new PB 45 will take four months to make, once build spots become available late 2012-early 2013.
