Second Hand Hampton Endurance 720 DPB For Sale

Hampton Yachts have enjoyed a long and successful history in premium motor yacht manufacture since 1965. Today their flagship models are the Endurance long range cruisers with models produced or planned from 60 to 92 feet. There’s also the Hampton coastal pilothouse motor yachts from 59 to 70 feet and a divergence into the chic design of the Hampton Euro 830.

Hampton Yachts are a proud manufacturer with a high focus on quality. Keeping all manufacturing in-house has allowed them to fully control every aspect of the builds. All of Hampton's high performance hulls are designed by renowned naval architect Howard Apollonio and are fully tank and incline tested to ensure safety standards for design, construction and equipage. They incorporate a highly refined split-chine hull design; basically a two stage chine that assists soft, dry entry at low speeds with the lower chine cutting easily through the water and the upper reducing any pushing effect. This softens the entry due to the reduced slapping of the chine surfaces, particularly at cruise speeds in rough and sloppy seas. The lower chines assist the lift to plane where they act as any other improving the entry and tracking ability whilst the upper chine reduces spray. The design is said to have reduced the annoying chine slap often experienced at rest. Hampton Yachts say, "Our hybrid hulls increase performance without sacrificing stability and comfort."

The Hampton Endurance 720 is hand-laid, incorporating premium Knytex or Cymax fibres for tremendous strength and reduced weight. The five outer layers use Vinylester resin to reduce the potential for future blistering/osmosis. In addition, Hampton adds two hand-laid layers of Kevlar reinforcement from chine to chine and a third layer in the forward collision zone and the hull. Running gear, rudder and drive are all protected by a full length keel. Even the stringers are foam cored and laminated using seven layers of Knytex (or Cymax) and nine layers support the engine mounts. Even the hull sides are solid laminate with superstructures strengthened with Core-Cell Foam.

Safety features include collision bulkheads, escape hatches, standard fire detection and suppression systems, a custom ship's monitoring system and twin fully rigged anchors. The Endurance 720 features full redundancy of essentials with in-line backups, pumps and components for all key systems including dual Racor in-line fuel filters, twin-PTOs to support the hydraulic system, two generators, back up fresh water pump, dual AC compressors, back up macerator pump to name a few.

The 720 is easy to manoeuvre in tight moorings with the primary helm and four added control stations plus Wesmar bow and stern thrusters. It incorporates Wesmar stabilizers for comfort both whilst underway and at rest and the engine room incorporates heavy sound insulation to reduce noise and vibration.

The Hampton Endurance 720 features natural Makore cherry wood interiors crafted that is a whopping 80-millimetre thick veneer in the flooring and 55 millimetres in the cabinetry with solid wood corners for magnificent internal fit outs with timeless nautical appeal.
The fixtures and accessories include Grohe taps and shower fixtures, Brower hydraulic davits, Tecma toilets, Seafire automatic engine shutdown and fire suppression, Racor fuel filters, Headhunter water pumps, Muir hydraulic windlass systems, AGM Batteries, Miele Appliances, Raymarine Electronics, Samsung Smart TVs, Fusion stereo system, Victron Inverters, dual Onan generators, desalination and chilled water air-conditioning.

You will just love the power of twin CAT C18 Acert 18.1-litre in-line six-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engines pushing 930 horsepower output each. At a reasonably swift displacement speed of 10 knots this highly efficient hybrid hull and power combination are said to use as little as a combined 55 litres per hour giving true seafaring range from the 10,000-litre fuel capacity. Her cruise speed is quoted at 9 to 17 knots with a wide open throttle at 21 knots.

I simply love the passage maker feel of the Hampton Endurance 720 and there’s something about Portuguese decks that herald time honoured seafaring tradition. She has tremendous visual appeal with her extended bridge-deck, large enclosed skylounge, wide walk around decks with Targa-style stanchions and very neat, traditional lines edged by oval stainless steel bow and handrails.

Endurance 72-1-29.jpg

The Endurance 720 has plentiful living space for long term cruising, or perhaps for a large harbour side party. Inside the skylounge the plush C-shaped leather lounge seats at least seven or eight people and provides an impressive view for formal dining. There’s a novel electric dumb-waiter, hidden behind the centre door of the upper service area for service from the saloon galley. The crew and the skipper can cruise together with a magnificent helm and almost 360 degree view only obstructed by the day head. The helm itself features twin Pompanette helm chairs plus the full array of Raymarine electronics including radar and VHF, thruster and stabiliser controls and full boat diagnostics all topped off with a traditional spoked gloss timber steering wheel. You can wander out on front to the upper Portuguese deck or out to the extended flybridge where you will find the hydraulic davit and Brig 3.8-metre tender with its 50 horsepower Honda outboard plus an external barbecue module with a fridge, separate ice-maker, Corian bench top and 15-amp electric barbecue/teppanyaki.

Hampton believe in staircases – not ladders – and these combined with wide, well secured walkways right around the boat make flow safe and easy. The extended upper deck provides plenty of shade for the rear cockpit, an ideal place for a dockside breakfast or afternoon cocktails in the relaxation of a comfortable upholstered dinette and gloss timber table. The aft deck is enclosed by full rear awnings for protection from the elements when required.

With its richly appointed skylounge with an additional day head, three large staterooms with en suite heads, and full crew quarters, the Endurance 720 is built for entertaining. The spacious saloon layout is trimmed with hand crafted cherry timbers, leather custom lounges and textured fabrics which are all in keeping with her traditional Motor Yacht feel and look. Forward of the saloon is the galley deck with full wet bar and the dumb-waiter. A spacious dining area is located forward with huge picture windows ensuring every meal aboard has a truly amazing outlook.

This vessel was upgraded to include Pyrotek sound paint and tiles both above and below waterline to further dampen any water noise ensuring a restful sleep.
There’s a twin cabin to port with two single beds and forward is the VIP stateroom which has its own entrance to the shared guest en-suite. Aft is the fourth cabin or crew quarters that is accessible from either the saloon or swim platform. The queen size bed with additional single bunk over cabin has an office and plenty of natural light from the mirror finished stainless steel portlights. This area also has separate head and shower room plus a separate laundry with Miele washer and dryer.
