Sun-worshippers will find plenty to love about the new range of boats from prestige UK builder Fairline

Hot on the heels of the Targa 48 GT debut in Australia recently, Fairline Yachts will showcase an all-new Targa 43 Open at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September.

Originally launched in 1997, the Fairline Targa 43 was hot property in the Mediterranean for many years, thanks to its appealing blend of performance and glamour.

Move forward a few decades and UK builder Fairline is still banking on an inspired mix of Italian design plus English engineering to tempt a new generation of buyers.

The Targa 43 Open is the latest boat designed for Fairline Yachts by celebrated superyacht designer, Alberto Mancini.

The partnership between the renowned Italian designer and British boatyard began with the Targa 63 GTO in 2016, and has now resulted in an instantly recognisable profile to showcase a new era for Fairline Yachts.

The new range of Fairline Yachts is available in Open, GT, or Squadron (flybridge) configurations, meaning there is something to appeal to every boatie. In the case of the Open model, a powered canvas roof slides back to that aft targa arch at the push of a button for sun-kissed days onboard.Targa 43 Open rear.

Owners can stretch out on the large sun bed aft, while friends lounge in the generously appointed cockpit.Alternatively, slide the roof closed and take shelter from the midday heat.
For committed sun-lovers there are expansive sunbeds on both the aft and foredecks to ensure you’re never far from reclining in comfort.

Open up the lazarette and you’ll discover a discretely stored tender – an inspired inclusion on a 14m sportscruiser where many manufacturers simply would not find room.

TradeABoat magazine recently spent time aboard the 48 GT model on the Gold Coast and we can attest to the newly impressive levels of fitout and a real leap forward in the manufacturing detail, following a recent takeover of Fairline by new owners.

The Fairline GT features an electric sunroof which extends halfway back into the hardtop, rather than the fully-opening canvas top of the Open model, but each offer an effective way to enjoy open air boating.

The new 43 Open will offer a range of accommodation layouts, with owners having the choice of a forward or midships master cabin.Targa 43 Open Interior

Upstairs, the saloon/galley arrangement offers a social, single-level entertainment zone that ensures the skipper is part of the fun, while a galley-up option means alfresco catering is a simple affair.

Below decks, Volvo Penta IPS drives offer outstanding manoeuvrability and excellent economy, given their powerful output.
