Rarely does a flagship model Maritimo come up for sale second-hand. Even rarer is one as new and in such good condition.

"The Maritimo M70 is a go-anywhere motoryacht which can accommodate a family in style, safety and comfort for some genuine blue-water passagemaking," says Bill Barry Cotter, Maritimo founder.

The magnificent Maritimo M70 isn’t only the flagship of the mighty Maritimo fleet, it’s a statement in modern boating. She hasn’t been designed and molded, she’s been conceived and sculptured as a pinnacle of nautical perspective providing its owners with the "ultimate in Maritimo style, engineering, power and outstanding efficiency" to become the honoured leader of the pack.

If your life has progressed to the wanderlust for true passagemaking in the seafaring splendour of a truly captivating hostess then look no further. From her striking poise to her graceful yet full-bodied lines, the M70 just oozes total confidence. Her voluptuous hull provides the foundation for a spacious fitout that equally suits as a master entertainer, family cruiser or for an adventurous couple to get away from the rat race to enjoy life at its best.

The Australian-built Maritimo M70 is truly palatial. Its layout flows almost rhythmically from the large rear platform, to the inviting cockpit and on into the rear galley and saloon with Maritimo’s signature internal staircase leading to a flybridge. She’s nautical eye candy with premium trim, layout and accessories from first glimpse until you settle for the night.

The rear deck features a settee module with shade from the extended flybridge moldings. The transom hides a teppanyaki plate, freezer, and sink complete with hot and cold water. There’s a large central lazarette housing the watermaker, water toy storage and a very welcome Seakeeper 26 stabiliser – a great addition to any boat.

Slipping on into the saloon-galley you will immediately be struck by the immense space and captivating presentation. It unfolds a host of visual treats with stunning textures, finishes and superb craftsmanship. The galley features domestic-size refrigerators and Miele appliances, and a large island bench. The gloss wenge timber is stunning, especially when highlighted by ivory bench tops. Faux timber flooring in the galley leads to plush carpet in the saloon enhanced by leather trim, full ceiling liners and stainless steel accents. There’s additional refrigeration in the galley, a separate wine fridge, a full-size dishwasher and Miele oven, along with a large pantry and storage, four-burner cooktop and twin sinks with hot/cold mixer.

To the port side of the saloon is a formal dining area with thickly upholstered L-shaped lounge and a beautiful gloss wenge drop-side dining table. Should the crowd gather for that dinner party, three added folding chairs complete a dining area suited to at least eight guests. Opposite is a bench lounge, also trimmed in magnificent ivory leather trim, before progressing downstairs to the accommodation levels.

The flagship M70 features a four-cabin layout with a central full-beam master, large VIP with en suite, plus double and separate-bunk cabins sharing a generously sized bathroom. All present charming and inviting allure with a certain top-end feel to the linen, trim, fittings and luscious comfort. The master features an exquisite full-beam en suite with plenty of light and superb fittings, plus portholes port and starboard. A bidet is standard, as are a pair of shower heads and a waterjet massager in the oversized shower.

Our Editor Tim noted: "The headroom throughout was impressive, more than accommodating my two-metre frame!" and an important note for our ever growing clientele. The robes are oversized and full length, while the master features a discreet entertainment system and large 40in TV. Guest cabins continue the luxurious feel and attention to detail of the master, also featuring full-length robes, ample storage and bright natural light. The bunk room can be configured as more office space or as a gym.

You can host your own royal party in the large enclosed flybridge and keep the helmsman company while you’re at it. Driving this beauty gives you that certain feeling of ultimate life success. The flybridge is a mix of the latest technology, expansive views and yet more room to relax and enjoy the ambience and views with the feeling you are cruising on a magic carpet ride. The bridge has massive bi-fold doors opening to the Portofino deck bringing that alfresco feel with its own balcony table with cover.

Close it up in the heat of summer and you ride in air-conditioned comfort or lock it down when the weather turns for the worst or seclusion. This bridge converts as overflow accommodation with separate lounges that easily convert to comfy beds. There’s yet another highly polished wenge drop-side table for catering. On the port side, a long buffet bar has been optioned to include a second refrigerator. Cruising vision is terrific with big windows providing massive vistas and there’s electric roller blinds should you need shade or privacy.

The helm is simply magnificent and the twin chairs provide the feel of total confidence. The M70 runs a pair of 1150hp Caterpillar C18 ACERT diesel engines that should provide an approximate 30-knot performance and around an 18-knot cruise. Besides the standard engine throttles, she’s controlled by the EJS hydraulic thruster joystick system including EPS station hold. There are controls at the helm, flybridge balcony and cockpit, including station hold remotes. The dealer says, "You could not possibly spend more money to help you dock." Don’t forget that Maritimo’s efficient shaft drive and hull design technology ensures excellent performance and fuel economy, while premium engineering and efficiency combine to deliver a true seafaring performer.

The vast instrument and accessories package includes Simrad NSO evo2 processors, three MO19-T 19in dual touchscreens, an NSS7 Evo2 MFD for autopilot control, OP40 dashboard controller, 4G broadband radar, 1kW echo sounder, BSM CHIRP, B275L/H and forward scan transducer, Simrad autopilot, Simrad VHF DSC radio with built-in AIS receiver, HS35 dual-station wireless handset for VHF and intercoms, Simrad GoFree WIFI device, Simrad 12in Combo NSS12 ev02 colour sounder to cockpit portside, and wind instrument.

Outside are wide, safe walkaround side decks and this one has total security with high side rails extending to the bow. Out front, the 500kg hydraulic davit takes the work out of launching and retrievals for the DLX 12 inflatable, with 40hp outboard and cover, on stainless steel cradles. It even has a depthsounder should you really want to explore those hidden tributaries. There are large fender lockers and access to the anchor winch, including fresh and salt water wash-down systems, capstan with 60kg Ultra anchor and standard anchor for backup; and by the way, this seafarer even features an eight-man liferaft for added peace of mind.

This Maritimo M70 is a true head-turner right down to the finest detail and the real beauty is it's a late 2015 model available right now, avoiding delivery delays. She has completed a low 750 hours of use, but has enjoyed some extended travel in her time. There’s even the balance of the extended Caterpillar warranty still current.

The option list is endless, with just some of the features including Karcher pressure cleaner, Aqualuma underwater lights, soft furnishings package, heated towel rails in the master en suite, two 17kW generators, IR cameras (to saloon, cockpit, anchor, engineroom), foredeck hailer, AIS receive and transmit, Wi-Fi router, 60cm sat dome for Fox or Sky, extra 240V freshwater pump in line with standard 24V freshwater pump, cockpit rod and drink holders, Zippo hot, sparkling and cold-water tap, Eskimo icemaker, and the fishos are catered for with Reelax 6.5m outriggers and live-bait tank.
