"We feel the time is right for expansion. The economy is picking up again, and we plan to offer a level of sales and service that has been lacking on the Gold Coast in recent times."

That’s how Game and Leisure Boats (GLB) director Graham McCloy described the motivation for company expansion, as GLB moves to secure a larger slice of the boating business in that part of Queensland.

Known first as the importer of US-built Cabo and Grady-White sportfishing boats, GLB recently took on the American Rinker brand, the locally-made Seatime 28 sportfishing boat, and Australian Signature boats from the Haines Group. The company also added Suzuki outboards to its lineup which means Grady-White hulls can be equipped with those engines.

McCloy said the company office will remain at Runaway Bay Marina but will be moved from the small facility at the southern end to a massive 180m² office and 700 m² display area, at the northern end of the marina.
