The Boating Industry Association of NSW (BIA) held its third annual Try Crewing Day over the weekend. The day aimed to introduce newcomers to the world of sailing in an
attempt to address the issue of a lack of crew within the industry.

Domenic Genua, Marketing Manager for the BIA said, "We know that many skippers lack crew. We also know that there is large number of people out there that don’t know how easy it is to participate in sailing. Our job is to bring the two groups together."

The program involved a participant briefing, a vessel familiarisation with a skipper, followed by a sail. The BIA says the response was positive, with most venues filling fast.
