The Melbourne Boat Show has announced it will run from July 5 to 9 this year, and promises to deliver the most complete celebration of recreational boating yet.

Organisers say the 2012 show will feature two stages of entertainment at either end of the display hall at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre. One end will focus on fishing and related products and services, while the other will show off wake, ski and tow sports.

Organisers say there will be plenty of boats to suit both pursuits on display for punters to peruse throughout the weekend. The show also hopes to add a sailing component.

The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association will run its boat license course again, offering new boaters training to obtain their license, while Transport Safety and Parks Victoria will both be on hand to provide the latest boating safety information.
