Whittley Marine is set to release its new SL 24 HardTop at this year’s Melbourne Boat Show (June 14-17), adding another string to its three-model-strong Sea Legend bow.

This Australian-designed fibreglass sportfishing boat, with standard hardtop and full-length windscreen glass, comes with plenty of performance, style and sophistication, and Whittley believes the SL 24 will become one of its most popular models.

According to the manufacturer, the full-length windscreen, with stainless steel grab rail for additional support while walking around the side and fiberglass-moulded hardtop, protects passengers from wind chill and provides a solution for overhead rod storage.

Speaking of fishing, the SL 24 HT is all for it. The boat’s transom has been designed with anglers’ needs in mind, with a (standard) circular live bait tank and wash-down facilities housed in moulded lockers on the stern drive or outboard configurations, complete with a self-draining bait board option. A clean-up sink unit on the side forms the mid-height cockpit transom walkthrough for easier access to the aft boarding platform and stainless steel boarding ladder.

In addition, a seamless cockpit, designed to increase space by eliminating internal mouldings, means the floor has been extended the full width of the hull. Look out for a full test in a future edition of TrailerBoat.
